BeschreibungOff The Wall - Pink Floyd naar Nederland De inmiddels wereldberoemde Pink Floyd Show :OFF THE WALL-THE SPIRIT OF PINK FLOYD komt binnenkort voor de 2e keer naar Nederland. De leden van deze Engelse band weten niet alleen speltechnisch gezien hun helden angstig dicht ten benaderen, ook wat podiumpresentatie betreft steken ze hun Grote Voorbeelden naar de kroon. Want de optredens van Off The Wall gaan vergezeld van een even perfecte als spectaculaire laser-, licht- en videoshow waarbij onder andere gebruik wordt gemaakt van een levensgroot videoscherm. De groep werd vijf jaar geleden opgericht en bestaat uit zanger/toetsenman Kevin Fitzpatrick, sologitarist ,,Fluff’’, bassist Paul Barker, zangeres/gitariste Stella Fairhead en drummer Chris Bold. Stuk voor stuk Pink Floydfans van het eerste uur die hun sporen hebben verdiend in de meest uiteenlopende popgroepen. Maar het was uiteindelijk de liefde voor de muziek van Pink Floyd die hen samen bracht. Toch probeert Off The Wall geen imitatie te zijn van z’n Grote Voorbeelden. ,,We kleden ons niet zo en doen ook de typische poses niet na,’’ aldus Fitzpatrick. ,,We zijn gewone fans van Pink Floyd die niets liever doen dan hun muziek spelen. En daarnaast houden we ervan om een grote show met tal van effecten neer te zetten.’’ Die pretentieloze opstelling zorgt ervoor dat Off The Wall er zonder moeite in slaagt een totaal eigen karakter aan de muziek van Pink Floyd te geven. Het is dan ook geen wonder dat de groep in Engeland al enkele jaren de grootste theaters zonder moeite uitverkoopt. En inmiddels is ook in de rest van Europa de zegetocht ingezet. BeschreibungThe Alte Oper has been one of the most prominent addresses in the city since 1880, yet in its current form, it is only 25 years young. At the end of the 70s, thanks to the efforts of regional businesses and local citizens, Frankfurt's most famous wartime ruin, the former opera house, was transformed into a modern concert and conference centre. The reopening was celebrated on the 28 August 1981 and, ever since, Alte Oper Frankfurt and its high-quality programme have been an international leader. The institution has marked its anniversary between August and December 2006 with a range of outstanding events and special publications. The Alte Oper Frankfurt does not only offer a platform for international culture, however. Since its reopening it has regularly hosted congresses, conferences and balls that have been highly regarded both within the region and beyond.
